What is Flowback?
Flowback is the critical initial phase of a new well’s production. During this period, choke sizes are gradually increased to ramp up to full production. Completion fluids, mixed with produced fluids, flow to the surface, often creating stabilized foam emulsions that require precise chemical treatment
Why is it important?
Stabilized foam emulsions as well as regular and reverse emulsions cause issues at test separators, vapor recovery units and other facilities. Chemical flowback treatments such as de-foamers and emulsion breakers are employed to collapse this foam in a timely manner to ensure that production remains on schedule.
